Teddy

Teddy is both my muse and place of refuge. This series of oil paintings was the centerpiece of my debut solo exhibition, OUROBOROS. Teddy embodies the idea that we can project ourselves onto an ageless, genderless, all-encompassing figure—the teddy bear. Each painting explores identity, showing how the same muse can convey a spectrum of expressions and emotions depending on the painter's state of mind. Though inanimate, Teddy possesses a soul; though without agency, it quietly asks for love and care. Will you love Teddy?
